John Speaks About Trance & Techno

Trance music changed my life. I have said in the past that I did not find trance, but rather - trance found me. And this is undeniably true.

Trance found me. It grabbed move. Trance moved me like no other music or sound before or since. Yet, at the the same time I'm not one to put down progressive house or techno. I think these are very cool sounds.

Indeed, I often feature progressive house and occasional techno in the Techno Trance Radio Show. Progressive house and techno are related to trance and cannot and should not be dismissed. They are fantastic sounds!

In fact, techno music surely existed before trance did. I don't want to ever get into the game of who made the first trance track or what was the first trance track. This is missing the point. And that point is that the creation of trance heralded a new age; a new way of thinking about music, and a new music experience.

Nothing compares to the deeply moving experience one feels with trance euphoria. There is simply nothing else quite like it on earth. All the rockers, hip-hoppers, and house heads out there just don't get it and don't know what they are missing.

But we trance lovers, trance enthusiasts, and trance addicts - we know what's up.

Big shoutouts to Armin van Buuren - A State of Trance, Above & Beyond - Trance Around The World, Paul van Dyk, Ferry Corsten, Tiesto, and every producer and DJ that has advanced the trance sound.

Peace. Love. Unity. Respect.

John Speaks About Trance Nation

John De La Mora presented the Trance Nation Radio Show for 3 years before ending his involvement with that project. Here he discusses why:

"When I began the Trance Nation Radio Show in December of 2006, I was producing, mixing, editing, uploading, marketing, tracking - basically doing running and managing the entire Trance Nation project on my own. And I was extremely happy to do so."

John continues, "During that time I was struggling to make ends meet. There were some weeks when I simply could not afford to buy the music to release a new Trance Nation episode. It was quite an emotional and financial struggle at times. But through it all, my love for Trance Nation never waned. Not in the least."

A Partnership Emerges

"But in reality, I was unaware that Supraton in Hamburg owned the legal trademark to Trance Nation. They contacted me after learning of my Trance Nation Radio Show. After listening to several episodes, they decided to offer me to continue to produce the Trance Nation Radio Show for them, and the show would be hosted on their server."

"I was quite happy to continue with Trance Nation, even though some artistic and scheduling control was compromised by way of the partnership I had entered into with Supraton." But over time, friction began to emerge. Not having complete and total control over the Trance Nation Radio Show began to take its toll.

"There were times when I had been uploading episode after episode of Trance Nation to the servers in Hamburg - yet the episodes were taking weeks upon weeks to be moved to the Trance Nation websites. Listeners and fans were growing very frustrated with the constant delays. I, too was frustrated. It pained me to see Trance Nation become neglected by others outside of my control. In the end, I decided it was best for me to end my relationship with Supraton and the Trance Nation project."

A New Beginning

"I began a new show in December of 2009 called the Techno Trance Radio Show. I retained nearly all of the existing Trance Nation radio network, and have added additional radio stations since that time. My love for producing a weekly trance, techno and progressive house show was renewed. With complete and total control once again, I continue to immerse myself in the production of this new weekly show."

"Trance Nation will forever remain dear to me and in my heart, but life goes on. And my Techno Trance project is the here and now. And there's no time like the present."

Indeed, the future is now. The time for the wonderful passion and melody and euphoria of Trance Nation is now. A project that spans many years. A project loved and listened to by many. Stay tuned for the latest news and releases from John De La Mora here.
